Documentary about actress Veronica Lynn thrilled Cuban audience

Havana, May 9 (Prensa Latina) The documentary "Many Sundays for Veronica" became a highly resonant cultural event, honoring the 95th birthday of leading Cuban actress Veronica Lynn, the National Council of Performing Arts affirmed.

The screening in Havana brought together representatives of cultural institutions, colleagues from the theater, students, and an audience that gave a standing ovation to the artist, a symbol of the living memory of theater and television in Cuba.

Directed by Pedro Maytin and with a script by Norge Espinosa, the film, produced by the Caricatos Agency and the National Council of Performing Arts, gives a collective portrait that transcends the conventional biography of the National Theater and Television Award winner.

For 44 minutes, Lynn’s voice intertwines with testimonies that reveal the strength of her legacy and the enduring presence of her on the national stage, the Council highlighted on social media. The actress, visibly moved, thanked them for the gesture and shared words that reflected her commitment to Cuban culture.

The production team highlighted their pride in having a figure who, at 95 years old, remains active and a leading figure in the performing arts.

The sustained applause from the audience showed that this documentary is also an act of gratitude and hope: a garden of memories where Veronica Lynn blossoms again and again.
