Ministry spokesman Colonel Jiang Bin responded to reports about the incorporation of new carrier-based air systems on Chinese aircraft carriers.
Jiang noted that the so-called “five-part carrier capability package” is an important element in developing systematic combat capabilities for naval groups.
The spokesman indicated that these capabilities include carrier-based stealth fighters, catapult-launched multirole aircraft, fixed-wing early warning aircraft, electronic warfare aircraft, and anti-submarine helicopters.
According to Jiang, these advancements represent a significant achievement in accelerating the transformation and modernization of the Chinese Navy.
The spokesman affirmed that building a powerful naval force fulfills China’s historical aspiration to strengthen its maritime presence and is a guarantee for national rejuvenation. Jiang emphasized that, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission, naval modernization has steadily progressed from coastal waters to open-sea operations.
He noted that naval platforms and weapons systems have expanded their functions and capabilities through innovative developments and technological advancements.
