The organization stated in a press release that Washington lacks the legitimacy and jurisdiction to take legal action in what it described as a violation of the most basic principles of international law.
According to the statement, the threats against Raul Castro are part of a systematic policy of hostility toward the Caribbean nation, marked by the intensification of unilateral coercive measures and the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
For the Committee, the accusation related to the downing of two aircraft belonging to the terrorist organization Brothers to the Rescue on February 24, 1996, in Cuban airspace is a matter of public record.
The solidarity organization also accused US authorities of acting with political dishonesty.
It warned of what it defined as a “silent war” against the Cuban people, through actions aimed at causing economic and energy strangulation, along with constant threats of aggression.
It emphasized that the US government is increasingly isolated in the international community due to its policy toward Cuba and reiterated its “unwavering” solidarity with Raul Castro, whom it described as a hero.
