The meeting will bring together representatives of Brazilian and African universities to strengthen ties in higher education.
The event also aims to consolidate strategic alliances in research, innovation, and professional development.
According to information released by the Presidency and the Education Ministry, the opening ceremony will be attended by Education Minister Leonardo Barchini and Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.
The initiative, in addition to the sponsorship of such institutions, is promoted by the Foreign Ministry, the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), the National Association of Directors of Federal Institutions of Higher Education (ANDIFES), and the Guimaraes Rosa Institute.
The forum’s agenda includes discussions on academic mobility, scientific cooperation, the exchange of university experiences, and joint projects in areas fundamental to shared development.
This rapprochement between Brazil and Africa in education is part of a broader South-South cooperation strategy boosted by Lula’s Executive, which has advocated in the last few years for strengthening political, economic, and cultural relations with countries on the African continent.
