“In the tourism sector, we sincerely believe that the loss of Venezuela and Cuba represents a loss of all of Latin America for Russian mass tourism,” Muradian told the newspaper Izvestia.
According to him, the embargo on flights by Venezuelan airlines was formally lifted in February, but there are still no direct flights to Russia from the airline Conviasa.
He noted that transportation depended heavily on Russian airlines, and that these will most likely not be flying there for the time being.
Muradian also noted that there is currently insufficient demand to justify regular flights, and that major Russian tour operators do not yet offer trips to Venezuela.
