According to Prensa Latina, the meeting took place in an atmosphere of cordiality and mutual understanding and is part of joint efforts aimed at consolidating and deepening the historical ties of collaboration between the two countries in the health field.
Caballero conveyed the congratulatory message of the Cuban Minister of Health, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, to his Djiboutian counterpart and extended an invitation to visit the Caribbean island.
Osman reiterated her firm commitment and full willingness to continue working closely with the Cuban side to elevate this collaboration to higher levels, for the benefit of the people and in the mutual interest of both nations.
Also participating in the meeting were the head of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Djibouti, Osmani Canete, and, representing the local side, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Ali, and the Technical Advisor in charge of Medical Cooperation, Mahamoud Daoud Dabar.
Cuba and Djibouti established diplomatic relations on November 21, 1998, characterized by friendship and close collaboration, especially in the field of health, encompassing almost all branches.
