BThe jury praised the production—directed by renowned actor and filmmaker Jorge Perugorria—for the strength of its cinematic vision and the performances of its lead actors. Special recognition went to acclaimed actress Mirtha Ibarra, who received the event’s top honor at the closing ceremony.
According to Alexis Triana, president of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC), over a hundred people gathered at Salento Park for the screening, where the film was warmly received by the Colombian audience.
After the screening, Ibarra expressed her surprise at the audience’s enthusiasm and their willingness to share their thoughts on the award-winning film.
In addition to the aforementioned honors, the festival awarded a special mention to the Cuban feature film *Cinco historias de amor y un boleron desesperado* by filmmaker Arturo Santana.
Speaking exclusively to Prensa Latina, the actress—who boasts an enviable filmography including titles such as *Adorables mentiras* (1991) and *Fresa y chocolate* (1993)—explained that the film addresses two main themes: the mistreatment of women and the preservation of the movie theater experience.
She noted that the production is filled with cinematic nods to both domestic and international films, and that her character views herself as a protagonist, living outside of reality and within the world of cinema.
