In her daily address via “Citizen Power” media outlets, the leader noted that peace forms the foundation for work, security, prosperity, and efforts aimed at combating poverty.
“Peace is a heritage of humanity—Christian, Socialist, and based on Solidarity,” the Co-president stated, highlighting that the Nicaraguan people understand the value of this asset and the responsibility to defend and safeguard it.
She added that the historical legacy of the founding figures, heroes, and martyrs is showed in today’s reality of “light, life, truth, peace, and goodness,” while underscoring the importance of maintaining an atmosphere of stability and harmony among families.
She noted that Nicaragua has endured periods of confrontation and discord that caused suffering for the population, and therefore insisted on the need to reject hatred and strengthen the values of peaceful coexistence.
Likewise, she gave thanks to God for what she described as an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the country, affirming that it is up to Nicaraguans to protect this heritage for present and future generations.
The Co-president concluded by noting that peace enables the people to work, advance in development, and continue building a climate of unity and well-being.
