The Movement stated in a press release that the narrative President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are trying to establish, that Cuba is a threat to the United States, is a pretext to continue the unjust blockade that punishes families and stifles its economy.
The Department of State published a pamphlet on July 20, accusing the Caribbean nation of boosting subversive activities against it, thereby seeking to create a consensus for a possible military aggression against the small country.
After rejecting these false accusations, the Movement of Solidarity affirms that the reality is quite different from the one Washington describes.
It noted that Cuba is a country that has dedicated its greatest efforts to healthcare, education, and international cooperation; meanwhile, its people endure an economic, commercial, financial, and energy blockade by the United States, which seeks to stifle a revolutionary process that has lasted more than six decades.
