The Miranda Cultural Center in this capital will host the political-artistic gathering “Cuba Is Not Alone”, organized by the Right to the Future Movement and the Homeland and Future Popular Front. Mojitos and a buffet will be served; the money collected will be donated toward the purchase of solar energy equipment.
Singer-songwriter Gabo Sequeira and singer Patricia Malanca will perform at the event.
Organizers affirmed, “The solidarity of the world’s free peoples with Cuba and its defense against the US blockade is a cause for humanity,” and dedicated the event to the 73rd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Garrison.
MASCuba has already arranged to purchase 50 solar energy modules to send to the island, but has so far been unable to pay for them due to the restrictions imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump on international banks to obstruct any transactions with Havana.
The Department of State, headed by Marco Rubio, implemented new punitive measures against Cuban institutions and officials, including Health Minister Dr. Jose Angel Portal, which Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described as “collective punishment against the Cuban people.”
Starting this Friday and concluding on Sunday with a political event to open it, another huge mural is being painted by artist Isaak Benapress in Cruce de Varela, Buenos Aires Province, as a tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on his 100th birthday, which will be celebrated on August 13.
