Martinez was invited to give the presentation by the Metropolitan Business Council of Xalapa and the Chamber of Commerce.
According to information shared by the Embassy via the social media platform X, the exchange helped identify and explore opportunities for economic, commercial, and investment collaboration, as well as general cooperation, between the Caribbean nation and the state of Veracruz.
During the meeting, the state’s Secretary of Economic and Port Development, Ernesto Pérez, highlighted the historic ties between the two countries and the commitment of both governments to strengthening bilateral relations.
He also outlined aspects of the state’s productive, commercial, and port capabilities that position it as a gateway to the global market.
Representatives of the Veracruz business sector expressed interest in learning about and exploring new avenues for exchange with Cuba, highlighting the potential for establishing mutually beneficial commercial and cooperative relationships.
Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle highlighted the close ties between the state and Cuba yesterday, expressed support for the island, and assessed possibilities for bilateral cultural, agricultural, and technological exchange.
