Commerce Ministry Spokesperson He Yadong informed that both sides reached that consensus during the first meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism.
He Yadong noted that Beijing worked over the last month on implementing the agreements reached at that meeting and accelerated preparations for the second meeting of the mechanism.
The spokesperson added that the work teams of both parties held more than 20 rounds of consultations, and four specialized groups held technical and professional exchanges on their respective economic and commercial concerns.
The official affirmed that China is willing to maintain frequent communication with the European side, based on mutual respect and rapprochement of positions.
He Yadong expressed Beijing’s willingness to explore practical solutions to address the trade concerns of both parties and boost a more balanced and sustainable development of bilateral economic exchanges.
