Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait call for regional dialogue

Doha, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait highlighted the importance of resorting to dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions and preserve security and stability in the region.

This position was expressed during telephone conversations held by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait, the Qatari agency QNA reported.

Participants in the discussions included Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud; Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi; and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The officials underscored the need for all parties to honor the agreements reached within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.

They noted that implementing these commitments is essential to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, de-escalating tensions, and reinforcing regional stability.

The four countries also reiterated their support for efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement to establish lasting peace in the Middle East.

During the talks, the foreign ministers reviewed the latest regional developments and the diplomatic coordination needed to prevent the conflict from widening.

They also addressed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation among their respective countries.
