Fidel Castro seminar in Vietnam focuses Historical legacy

Hanoi, Aug 3 (Prensa Latina) Deputy director of the National Academy of Politics Ho Chi Minh, Nguyen Manh Hung, said today that Fidel Castro was a strong internationalist, an excellent theorist and a practical activist of the communist and international workers movement.

Speaking at a scientific conference on the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution in the academic institution of Hanoi, Manh Hung expressed that for the Vietnamese people, Fidel Castro will always be a great friend and a loyal and unwavering comrade.

The image of Fidel Castro raising the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam in the liberated area of Quang Tri, in 1973, along with his immortal words: “For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to shed even its own blood.”, it has become a symbol of constant affection between the peoples of both countries.

During the quote entitled “Comrrade Fidel Castro: the great leader o the Cuban Revolution, an unwavering internationalis and great friend of the Vietnamese people” Several papers were presented that dealt with the legacy of the Cuban revolutionary and the value of the special relationship of solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba in the new era.

The Cuban ambassador here, Rogelio Polanco, in his presentation pointed out that the patriotic traditions, the experiences of the child Fidel in his native land (Birán, in the east of the country) and the family teachings helped to shape the personality, the character and their revolutionary ideals.

“However, although the circumstances in which the initial years of his life were conceived and the family conditions influenced decisively, it was his intellectual and political activism that eventually shaped his revolutionary class consciousness and made him the exceptional leader who transcended the borders of his small Island and his time,” he stressed.

For the permanent vice president of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, Nguyen Viet Thao said that the figure of Fidel Castro became a symbol of the aspiration to independence, self-sufficiency, social justice and the tireless spirit of struggle for peace and progress.
