Kim accused Tokyo in her statement by the Central News Agency (CNA) of moving toward becoming a military power.
The leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) cited as recent examples the test launch of Tomahawk missiles from the Aegis Chokai vessel, the participation in joint drills under US command, and the deployment of new long-range missiles at military bases.
She noted that these actions contradict the Japanese Constitution and international law, while revealing the “ambition for renewed aggression” of the archipelago with a historical record of war crimes.
Kim also blamed the United States for supporting and encouraging Japanese military expansion as part of a global hegemony strategy that, she affirmed, makes the Asia-Pacific region “the hottest zone in the world.”
