Russia outlines conditions for lasting peace with Ukraine

Moscow, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) Peace in Ukraine requires denazification and guarantees for Russian speakers, as well as the imposibility of joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said.

Grushko told Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station that achieving a sustainable solution in Kyiv is impossible without resolving all these issues.

The deputy foreign minister specifically affirmed that the issue does not concern domestic matters such as denazification, respect for the rights of the Russian-speaking population, and the restoration of democracy, but also external aspects. “This includes NATO membership, military configurations, and other restrictions on the Ukrainian armed forces.”

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova previously declared the urgency of Ukraine’s denazification and demilitarization efforts.

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to demand Ukraine’s neutral status and its refusal to join NATO as a condition for concluding a peace treaty.
