The ANAIC stated that the delegation, composed of nine members, traveled to the Caribbean nation to join the “Jose Marti” European Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, which will remain in Cuba until August 16.
The Association considers “extraordinary political and human value” the program of activities that this year is dedicated to commemorating the 100th birthday of Fidel Castro Ruz, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution and an international symbol of anti-imperialist resistance and solidarity among peoples.
The ANAIC’s official website noted that the busy agenda of this visit includes meetings with local communities “to witness firsthand the resilience and strength of the Cuban people,” as well as “the delivery of solidarity contributions to offer concrete support” to them.
The statement adds that on behalf of that organization, and along with the other members of the European Solidarity Brigade, the ANAIC delegates reaffirm with their presence in Cuba “the strong bond of friendship, the rejection of the United States’ economic blockade, and the constant closeness between the Italian and Cuban peoples.”
