It is not directed against any country, and it only aims at strengthening ongoing efforts for peace, stability, and prosperity in the wider region,” Dar said in a statement issued in response to the debate and interest surrounding the issue over the last two days, according to the Foreign Minister.
However, the foreign minister reaffirmed that an external armed attack on any of the three countries will be considered an act of aggression against all three.
Dar, who is also the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister, noted that the so-called Mecca Agreement is open to any country in the region willing to adhere to its fundamental principles and resolve differences through mutual respect, cooperation, and peaceful means.
He affirmed that this commitment aligns with the core principles of Islamabad’s foreign policy.
Dar stated that Pakistan wishes to continue close cooperation with all brotherly nations to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.
