DPRK warns of Japan’s neo-militarism

Pyongyang, Aug 11 (Prensa Latina) Kang Won-chol, an international security analyst for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), criticized Japan's 2026 Defense White Paper, considering it a step toward "new militaristic aggression."

Kang noted in an article published by KCNA that the document seeks to justify the arms buildup by accusing the DPRK and other neighboring countries of being a “grave and pressing threat.”

The commentator said Japan is consolidating its alliance with the United States while denying its historical crimes and pursuing becoming a military power, which represents “the most pressing and grave threat facing the world today.”

He also questioned the statements made by Japanese Defense Minister Koizumi, who defended the need to strengthen military capabilities in the face of regional tensions.

Kang called on the international community to maintain strict vigilance over Tokyo’s neo-militaristic maneuvers and to strongly reject them.
