Cuba Opens a photographic exhibition dedicated to Fidel Castro

Holguin, Cuba, Aug 13 (Prensa Latina) - A photo exhibition dedicated to the historic leader Fidel Castro was inaugurated at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) in this eastern province, as a tribute to the centenary of his birth.

The exhibition, conceived with a permanent character, brings together seven large-format prints and two posters that collect passages from the tours of the Commander-in-Chief through the territory of Holguin, as well as their historical link with the armed institution and its combatants.

During the opening, the first instructor of the Minint Political Body in the province, lieutenant colonel Alexis Arcos Moyares, stated that the project responds to the commitment to keep alive the legacy of the revolutionary leader and turn the site into a space for consultation and learning.

The photo selection was supported by the investigative advice of the vice president of the Union of Historians in the province, Victor Aguilera, who contributed snapshots of his personal collection, while graphic printing was carried out by the Propaganda and Events Holguin Base Business Unit.

For his part, the head of the Political Body of the Minint in the territory, Colonel Enrique Caballero Meneses, highlighted the technical work of digital restoration carried out by Major Daniel Suarez Sera to restore the original quality to the historical images.

Prior to the opening of the exhibition “100 years with Fidel”, the provincial head of the Minint, Colonel Yosbel Maranon Gonzalez, handed over the status “Faithful to his legacy” to officers Arcos Moyares and Suarez Sera for their contribution to the preservation of historical memory.
