The event will take place at the site historically known as Vila Euclides, where Lula led large assemblies with metalworkers during the ABC Paulista strikes in the late 1970s.
The Workers’ Party (PT) convened the event under the slogan “Lula: onde tudo comecou” (Lula: Where It All Began), alluding to the setting that helped project the then-union leader as a national figure during the struggle against the dictatorship and for workers’ rights.
Lula personally reinforced that symbolism: “A place of struggle, history, and democracy,” he wrote on X, inviting his supporters to reconnect with the roots and look toward the future.
The PT expects to gather around 20,000 people and organized caravans from different regions of the country to participate in this first major public event for the Lula-Geraldo Alckmin electoral formula.
