Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghaei affirmed that the airstrikes on Deir al-Zahrani, Ansar, and Nabatieh killed at least 11 people and violated Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity.
IRNA news agency stated that Baghaei questioned the Security Council’s lack of response to what he considered violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
The spokesperson demanded a halt to Israeli attacks and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the areas they occupy within Lebanese territory.
Baghaei also expressed Tehran’s solidarity with Lebanon and stated that the country has the right to defend its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
Israel has intensified, since early Saturday, its strikes on southern Lebanon, with shelling targeting a house in Ansar and a two-story building in Deir al-Zahrani, both in the Nabatieh district.
