The convoy, carrying 3,679 tons of food, medicine, and fuel, is part of the Zad El Ezra initiative managed by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) and supported by 75,000 volunteers who organize, pack, and load the supplies.
Food, medical supplies, and other essential items constitute the thin line between life and death for hundreds of thousands of Gazans whose homes have been destroyed by nearly three years of brutal Israeli airstrikes in what few hesitate to call genocide and ethnic cleansing.
The ERC stated that this time, the long line of trucks is carrying 1,322 tons of food and flour parcels; 428 tons of survival supplies, medical equipment, and medicines; and more than 1,929 tons of fuel for the operation of emergency services.
Statistics indicated that Egypt’s humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gazan population have surpassed one million tons and account for 70 percent of the total aid delivered worldwide.
