Russia delivers humanitarian aid to Cuba

Moscow, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) A delegation from the Russian Civic Chamber donated humanitarian aid during a visit to Havana to support that country's population, the Russkiy Mir.ru channel reported.

The release, which cited the Russian Civic Chamber as its source, stated that the delegation donated food, sweets, portable flashlights, USB drives, and first-aid kits for the Cuban population, which is suffering from an energy crisis due to Washington’s actions.

The donation ceremony took place during a meeting with the board of directors of the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), as part of the events commemorating the 100th birthday of Fidel Castro.

Nikita Anisimov, a member of the Russian Civic Chamber and the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo, stressed that Russia stands in solidarity with Cuba and will continue to support it in all international forums in which Russian NGOs participate.

ICAP First Vice President Noemi Rabasa expressed her gratitude to Russia for its assistance at a time when Cubans are experiencing shortages of essential products such as medicine, fuel, and food.

During the trip, Russian representatives participated in the Solidarity Forum organized by the ICAP.

As part of the cultural program, Russian violinist Pyotr Lundstrem, a guest of the Havana International Book Fair, gave a concert for the Cuban public.
