During his weekly press conference, Baghaei explained that the text of the agreement does not include any clause called a “60-day deadline” and asserted that Iran does not define its policies under pressure or ultimatums.

The spokesman indicated that this period corresponded only to a framework intended for developing talks in two areas: the lifting of sanctions and nuclear activities.

Baghaei also stated that the United States violated the content of the understanding a few weeks after its signing, and therefore the planned talks never began.

He explained that due to the lack of commencement of these negotiations, the 60-day period ceased to be valid. Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17, mediated by Pakistan, regarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The implementation of the agreement remains stalled due to disagreements over the security of this strategic waterway.
