More than 600 delegates from the region’s 47 member States, global leaders of the sector, development partners, donors, and representatives of the global organization are discussing issues related to the workforce, financing, medical regulation, and emergency equipment until August 28.
They also assess progress toward regional health goals and deliberate on new strategies and resolutions.
The session is expected to identify collective actions to strengthen health systems, boost universal health coverage, reinforce health security, and improve emergency preparedness across the continent.
The meeting will serve as a key platform for African countries and global health partners to deepen continental health cooperation and boost practical solutions to Africa’s most pressing health challenges.
