Gathering in Brazil reaffirms solidarity with Cuba

Brasilia, Aug 26 (Prensa Latina) A gathering at the Cuban Embassy in Brazil reaffirmed solidarity with the Caribbean island and opposition to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed against it by the United States.

Tonight’s meeting brought together members of left-wing political parties, social organizations, the Jose Marti National Association of Cubans Residing in Brazil, friends of the cause, and students.

Among the attendees was Lucca Grossi, a musician and sociology student at the University of Brasilia, who explained in exclusive statements to Prensa Latina that he has always admired the Cuban cause and considers it a source of inspiration.

Currently, the young man noted, the island faces serious threats from imperialism and U.S. actions, including potential military aggression—a possibility U.S. President Donald Trump has mentioned on several occasions.

Grossi referred to Washington’s recent policies toward Cuba and noted that supporters of the Revolution are closely monitoring events.

The Brazilian student added that friends of Cuba also feel threatened by the current situation and called for international support for the Caribbean nation.

During the gathering—which included a tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro—participants denounced the impact of the U.S. blockade on the Cuban economy and the daily lives of the Cuban people.
