La Moneda Cultural Center celebrates Chilean Identity Month

Santiago, Chile, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) With music, folk dance, exhibitions, and fine cuisine, La Moneda Cultural Center in they heart of this capital is celebrating Chilean Identity Month, defined as everything that makes up the national identity.

The meeting in Chile between indigenous and European heritages gave rise to traditions deeply rooted in each region, and one where this process is expressed with particular richness is the rural world of the country’s central region.

The exhibition brings together a series of handcrafted objects linked to equestrian heritage, such as bridles, spurs, stirrups, and saddles, of remarkable aesthetic value.

Also included are large-scale prints inspired by 19th-century engravings and paintings, among them “The Huaso (Peasant) and the Washerwoman” (1835), by German artist Johann Moritz Rugendas, and “September 18th on the Champ de Mars” (1845), by French artist Ernest Charton.

The exhibition, which is organized together with the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, will be open at the cultural institution’s Wiphala Space until September 27.
