Local media reported that First Vice President Carlos Cuerpo said this emergency package will seek to revitalize the local economy and strengthen public services.

It will also allow 80 million euros to be deposited into the Ceuta economy over the next four months, 35 million euros of which will be allocated to direct aid for SMEs and the self-employed, and 15 million euros to improve commerce and tourism.

Additionally, the 15 million euros of the package to be approved by the Council of Ministers will strengthen education, healthcare, and justice services in Ceuta.

The weekend has so far remained relatively calm, following two days of clashes between protesters and the police, with irregular migrants as protagonists.

With the arrival of some 80,000 people from Morocco on July 30, the battle for control of the narrative continued among government bodies and political parties.
