In an official statement from its National Leadership, the political force—part of the Great Patriotic Pole—asserted that they do not oppose selling oil, doing business, or attracting investment; rather, what compels them to raise their voices firmly is “the method.”
They also pointed to the geopolitical conditions and intentions accompanying this negotiation, occurring “in a scenario where imperialism has not ceased its aggression, sanctions, and strangulation of our homeland.”
As an ally of the Bolivarian Revolution and faithful to the legacy of Chavez and Bolívar, the MRT recalled that it was precisely the United States—along with its political operatives—that drove “the financial encirclement, economic persecution, and criminal blockade against Venezuela in an attempt to bring it to its knees.”
For this reason, the group stated, it is politically contradictory for those who previously bet on the collapse of our homeland and economy to now appear as promoters of national “rebirth.”
The political organization declared that announcing contracts or repeating empty rhetoric about “development” and “investment” is insufficient if the same old logic lies beneath: “the subordination of our wealth to foreign interests.”
