The historical-cultural project “From Revolution to the Stars” is being implemented by the Russian Society for Friendship with Cuba, with support from the Presidential Grant Fund.
The exhibition features unique archival images of the first cosmonaut’s visit to Cuba, from the archives of the TASS news agency. The photographs convey an atmosphere of solidarity between the peoples of both countries and their leaders.
The organizers noted that the exhibition has already been presented in 14 regions of Russia (including Moscow) and in Cuba.
The project aims to preserve historical memory and strengthen public diplomacy.
An online exhibition, “Cover: Gagarin!”, has also been created. (available on the library’s website), where visitors can view international newspaper front pages from 1961 dedicated to space exploration.
The exhibition will be open to the public in the library’s Arms Hall, located at 52 Lenin Street, Ryazan, until September 13.
