Spain receives 58.1 million tourists from January to July

Madrid, Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) Spain received 58.1 million tourists from January to July, with spending totaling 82 billion euros, an official source reported on Tuesday.

Data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) state that international tourist arrivals exceeded 11.5 million in July, a 4.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

In July, the United Kingdom was the leading country of origin for visitors to Spain, with 2.2 million tourists, while France ranked second, with a 2.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Meanwhile, 1.2 million tourists arrived from Germany in July, representing a 2.3 percent year-on-year increase.

Italy also stood out during this period, with a 16.9 percent increase, and Switzerland, with a 13.2 percent increase compared to the same month last year. The Balearic Islands were the top destination in July.

The Balearic Islands were the leading destination for tourists in July, accounting for 22.3 percent of the total, followed by Catalonia (20.6 percent) and Andalusia (14.6 percent).
