Uruguayan Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin announced the meeting, which will bring together the heads of diplomacy of Argentina, Pablo Quirno; Bolivia, Hector Huanca; Brazil, Mauro Vieira; and Paraguay, Ruben Ramirez Lezcano.
The event will be held at the Uruguayan Foreign Ministry headquarters, at a time when trade and political disagreements are present within the South American group.
The search for an agreement to distribute the quotas offered by the European Union to MERCOSUR exports based on the bilateral agreement that came into force on May 1 will be on the agenda.
The meeting also comes at a time of tension in relations between Brazil and Argentina, whose president, Javier Milei, has been involved in episodes of interference in the Brazilian electoral process and even insults to his counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Before the foreign ministers’ meeting, the Uruguayan government will sign air transport agreements with Argentina and Bolivia.
