Russia sees no conditions for peace talks on Ukraine

Moscow, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) At the moment, there are no conditions for moving toward peace negotiations regarding Ukraine, although Russia remains willing to participate in them, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.

“For now, there are no conditions to move toward a path of peace negotiations, although we maintain our readiness to enter into peace talks,” Peskov told reporters.

The spokesman also denounced that Ukraine is continuing its terrorist activities.

Peskov added that “the militarization of Ukraine continues” and that European countries “are trying to find ever more money to purchase weaponry” destined for Kyiv.

In early September, Russia and the United States stepped up contacts to address the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

Against this backdrop, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held a three-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on September 5.

The following day, the two met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

Following these meetings, the Washington representatives expressed hope that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine would resume.

Moscow has repeatedly expressed its willingness to resume talks in a trilateral format. The possibility of holding a new round in October is currently being considered. The previous meeting in this format took place last February in the Swiss city of Geneva.
