*Eternamente Omara*, another gift of life for a great Cuban artist

Havana, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) – With her 96th birthday approaching on October 29, Cuban music star Omara Portuondo is grateful and happy about the Latin Grammy nomination for her album *Eternamente Omara*.

The album, competing in the Best Traditional Tropical Album category, is a project created in collaboration with great artists she admires, including Roberto Fonseca—who handled musical production—as well as Silvio Rodriguez, Nathy Peluso, Pablo Lopez, and Angelique Kidjo.

“If this album were to win, I could say I would feel deeply satisfied after so many years of work, dedication, and love for music,” the performer stated on her Facebook page.

On that social network, the Buena Vista Social Club diva extended her gratitude to her family, the musicians, the record label Warner Music Spain, and the Latin Recording Academy, “which has treated me with such love and respect throughout all these years.”

Recognized as a leading exponent of the *feeling* genre, Omara Portuondo has brought her art to numerous international stages and participated in festivals such as Cannes (France) and the Golden Orpheus (Bulgaria), where she won the award for best performance.

She lent distinction with her incomparable voice to the Buena Vista Social Club project, which took her around the world and boosted her recording career with labels such as Egrem (Cuba), Nube Negra (Spain), and World Circuit (UK).

Among the productions that highlight her artistic career is *Vida*, winner of the 2023 Latin Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Album.
