“The ruling United Russia party has got 349 seats: 14 via the federal district and 209 via single-mandate constituencies,” Pamfilova said while announcing the final results of the elections held between September 18 and 20 in Russia.
The chairwoman added that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) won 37 seats (32 via the federal district and five via single-mandate constituencies), and the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) reached 23 seats: 21 via the federal district and two via single-mandate constituencies.
The New People party reached 19 seats, all via the federal district. Meanwhile, the Just Russia party won 17 seats (13 via the federal district and four via single-mandate constituencies), while the Rodina (Motherland) party secured a single seat.
Russia held parliamentary elections last week to renew the State Duma, which comprises 450 lawmakers who will serve five-year terms.
Russian President Vladimir Putin described these elections as the most important event in the country’s domestic politics.
