Upon her arrival in the capital, Dr. Guevara was welcomed by Cuba’s Ambassador to this European nation, Juan Antonio Fernandez Palacios, and members of the Caribbean country’s diplomatic mission.
The event at the European Parliament is being organized by “The Left” group within that body; representatives expressing solidarity from various European countries are expected to participate.
The gathering will serve as a forum for discussion regarding Cuba and for rejecting the economic, commercial, and financial blockade—which has also extended to the energy sector since January of this year—imposed by the United States on the Caribbean nation.
As part of her agenda in Brussels, Dr. Guevara will also hold meetings and exchanges with representatives of organizations and movements in the country that stand in solidarity with Cuba.
Dr. Guevara recently attended the *Fete de l’Humanite* on the outskirts of Paris, where she met with Cuba solidarity associations and spoke at events organized within one of Europe’s largest leftist forums, an event held since 1930.
