During an interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, aired on the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” program and distributed by QNA, Al Thani affirmed that Israeli actions in Gaza Strip are war crimes and held Netanyahu responsible for them.
The Qatari prime minister stated that Israeli strikes on Qatar seek to manipulate public opinion through narratives that, in his view, distort the events, and accused Netanyahu of attributing responsibility to others for actions taken by his own government.
Al Thani reiterated Doha’s condemnation of the Israeli airstrikes on its territory and warned that attacking countries playing a mediation role sets a dangerous precedent.
On September 9, 2025, the Israeli military and Shin Bet conducted an airstrike on the residences of Hamas political bureau members in Doha.
Qatari authorities said the strike killed six people and injured 18.
It occurred while Qatar, alongside Egypt and under US supervision, was participating in indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange agreement.
