According to the congressman’s post on the social media platform X, this involves the revival of a scheme that U.S. agencies previously failed to execute through the fabrication of false testimony.
Cepeda stated that the goal is to physically, legally, and morally destroy the leaders of the *Pacto Historico* (Historic Pact), the coalition that united the country’s most important progressive groups.
He also warned of an attempt to divide the movement, noting that “this is the primary condition necessary for fascism to triumph.”
The senator’s allegation follows others made by the *Pacto Historico* regarding attacks on other lawmakers driven by Abelardo de la Espriella.
In a statement released via official channels, the party specifically addressed attacks against Senator Isabel Zuleta and Bogota Representative Maria Fernanda Carrascal involving the manipulative use of artificial intelligence.
The statement added that these actions are accompanied by staged scenarios, false posts, and fabricated messages intended to deceive the public, damage the congresswomen’s reputations, and undermine their political work.
