During a debate organized in Washington by the Council on Foreign Relations, Rajji addressed the situation in Lebanon, the delay in implementing the framework agreement, the arming of Hezbollah, the future of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and relations with the new Syrian government.

The foreign minister said Beirut’s priority is ensuring stability and expressed hope that the country would regain its role as a regional cultural, tourism, and economic hub.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement, Rajji stated that this objective requires ending the occupation and ensuring that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the State.

Official figures reported that the Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed at least 4,386 people, injured 12,413, and displaced more than a million persons since March 2.
