Presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro faces backlash in Brazil

Brasilia, Oct 4 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian Senator and presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro was met with boos and shouts of "fascist" and "militiaman" while accompanying his wife, Fernanda Bolsonaro, to vote in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the news portal *Brasil 247*, the expressions of disapproval took place at a private school in the Tijuca neighborhood, in the northern zone of the city.

Upon leaving the polling station, Flavio Bolsonaro faced protests from opponents, who also chanted slogans in support of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva—a candidate for re-election and the main rival of the Liberal Party (PL) representative.

During the verbal exchange, one of the lawmaker’s supporters retorted with an insult directed at Lula.

Flavio Bolsonaro had cast his own vote earlier at the Barao Homem de Mello Municipal School, located in Vila Isabel, also in Rio de Janeiro’s northern zone.

He arrived there accompanied by his wife and received expressions of support from voters present at the site.

Also in attendance were the PL candidate for the governorship of Rio de Janeiro, Douglas Ruas, and Senate candidates Carlos Jordy and Carlos Portinho.

These Brazilian elections Will pick on the president, vice president, governors, 54 of the 81 senators, and federal, state, and district deputies.

According to the Superior Electoral Court, more than 158 million voters are eligible to cast ballots; if necessary, a runoff election will take place three weeks later.
