According to official data from the military agency, “the attempted drone attack on Moscow this October 13, turned into one of the largest ones since the beginning of the year.”
The military ministry specified that 417 attack unmanned aerial vehicles flying toward the Moscow region were detected and shot down during the day, making this attempt one of the largest since the start of the year.
The most significant incident occurred between September 19 and 20, when air defenses destroyed more than 1,600 drones, 450 of which were shot down as they approached the capital.
Other major incidents included air attacks on October 8 and 9, when 403 drones were deployed, and on August 15 and 16, when 600 drones were launched against western Russia.
It is worth noting that, several hours earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that the number of drones shot down while approaching the city had risen to 48—a figure that continued to increase throughout the day on Tuesday.
