During the formal ceremony, Guelleh conveyed his greetings to Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and expressed an interest in bolstering bilateral collaboration, according to information shared with this agency by Sanchez Martinez.
The diplomat highlighted the historic ties between both governments and peoples, as well as his commitment to working toward their strengthening.
He outlined the negative impact on the Cuban people caused by the current intensification of the U.S. economic, commercial, financial, and energy blockade, and expressed gratitude for Djibouti’s historic stance in the international campaign the Caribbean island is waging to lift this unilateral measure.
Sanchez Martinez was accompanied by the official in charge of Consular Affairs, Eulalia Cardenas San Martin, and the head of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Djibouti, Osmani Canete.
