“In the face of the US government’s energy blockade—which seeks to punish the entire Cuban people—our Party and Government are responding with greater sovereignty and measures to alleviate the impact of that US policy on the Cuban population,” the Foreign Minister noted on the social media platform X.
Rodriguez also reported that 1,418 MW of capacity has been installed across 144 photovoltaic parks; renewable energy sources account for 21.4% of the country’s power generation; and there are 44 solar charging stations and 64 charging points serving the public.
Furthermore, he noted that 100% of polyclinics, nursing homes, maternity homes, and funeral homes are equipped with installed renewable energy capacity.
“Cuba is not a threat; the blockade is,” he concluded.
