Al-Ekhbariya reported that Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman led the kingdom’s delegation during a visit to this capital.
The Saudi channel announced that the meeting reaffirmed the alliance’s nations’ role in boosting regional security and stability, and cooperation with other states in the region to achieve these objectives.
The visit is part of efforts to reduce tensions among all parties involved in the crisis, foster dialogue and diplomatic solutions, and support mediation initiatives led by Qatar and Pakistan, the source added, without specifying which Iranian officials the delegations met with.
The Mecca Alliance was established on August 7 through a joint defense agreement signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
