International community to opposes US blockade

Havana, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) Prime Minister Manuel Marrero expressed his confidence that a resolution against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba will receive a favorable vote this week at the United Nations (UN).

The head of Cics government ofrom the largest of the Antilles stated that, as the debates and voting approach on October 27 and 28, “we are certain that justice, truth, and international solidarity with #Cuba will prevail.”

The message, shared on the social media platform X, highlights the recognition earned by his country, which is heroically resisting the onslaught of the world’s greatest nuclear power.

This week’s debates will mark the 34th time the United Nations General Assembly examines the report titled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.”

During a press conference on October 21, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced the extreme and unprecedented pressure exerted by the United States on sovereign nations, urging them to change their votes regarding the report against the blockade.

Rodríguez Parrilla noted that between March 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026, the losses caused by the U.S. blockade against Cuba amounted to $8.0833 billion at current prices.

The cumulative damages resulting from Washington’s policy—in place for more than six decades—total $178.7005 billion at current prices.
