UN Commission accuses Israel of extermination in the West Bank

United Nations, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) An independent UN commission of inquiry has accused Israel of continuing to commit crimes against humanity—including extermination—against the Palestinian population in the West Bank.

In its report, the body also denounced the genocide perpetrated in Gaza, despite a ceasefire agreed upon for the Strip in October 2025.

The Independent International Commission of Inquiry was established in 2021 by the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council to investigate violations committed in the occupied territory. Its report asserts that the military escalation masks a policy aimed at expelling Palestinians from their lands.

Furthermore, it notes that Tel Aviv is responsible for crimes such as persecution, torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence.

It also finds that military operations and repeated attacks by settlers constitute a systematic policy of violence and forced displacement against the Palestinian civilian population, intended to expand Israeli control.

“The killings and injuries deliberately inflicted upon civilians, as well as the destruction of their homes in the West Bank—coupled with Israel’s persistent refusal to accept responsibility—are part of a broader strategy aimed at exterminating and displacing Palestinians and imposing unbearable living conditions upon them,” stated the commission’s chair, Srinivasan Muralidhar.

The investigators warned that Israeli authorities do not merely tolerate settler violence; rather, their conduct suggests an intent to integrate such acts into military operations as part of a coordinated assault on the population.
