The agreement aims to strengthen municipal governance and improve the living conditions of city inhabitants.
The accord establishes collaboration on collecting and analyzing urban data, monitoring development outcomes, preparing the city’s 11th Structural Plan, expanding the supply of affordable housing, and coordinating urban initiatives.
The latter is linked to the 32nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP32), scheduled for November 2027 in this capital.
Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe signed the agreement with UN-Habitat as the city seeks to strengthen data-driven planning and improve its capacity to respond to the growing demands of urban development.
This agreement is expected to foster more effective urban governance, expand investment opportunities, and create better living conditions for the city’s residents.
