Cuba stands with dignity at the UN in the face of lies from the U.S.A

United Nations, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) — Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla interrupted the speech of the United States representative, calling for order in response to a presentation riddled with slanders, distortions, and lies.

“You are lying,” the Cuban diplomat stated, as he—followed by other members of the Cuban delegation—approached the podium where Mike Waltz was speaking.

“That person needs to step away from the podium; he will not intimidate me,” said the individual who claimed to be speaking on behalf of the Cuban people, while also demanding, “I am the representative of the United States of America—step back.”

“Pursuant to Rule 71 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly, I request that you call the United States representative to order. He is not only lying in a crude and arrogant manner, but he is also showing a lack of respect for the dignity of this Assembly and its member states,” the head of the Cuban delegation retorted from his seat in the plenary hall.

Rodriguez Parrilla accused him of “exerting pressure and offending the dignity of the people and the Government of Cuba.”

“Mr. Waltz, you are lying once again. I wish you better performance in your future political roles; your performance in the National Security Council and at the United Nations has been poor,” the Foreign Minister concluded.

Waltz continued his speech, while the Cuban delegation persisted in its protest. The Foreign Minister took the floor once more to call for order, labeling the U.S. representative a “liar.”

On Tuesday, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) began its annual review of the resolution calling for an end to the United States’ blockade against Cuba.
