The official dates for this Ibero-American summit are November 4 and 5, though discussions with ministers, experts, and international institutions have been underway in Madrid since November 1.
The Ibero-American AI Alliance was established to strengthen digital and cultural sovereignty, and the presidents will submit the agreement for adoption.
The document was finalized during a ministerial meeting on digital and technological issues, within the 30th Ibero-American Summit in Madrid, whose high-level segment takes place this Wednesday and Thursday.
The Ibero-American AI Alliance, open for voluntary adherence by all member states, focused on three pillars.
The agreement will establish an “Ibero-American Data Space” to develop AI systems that serve the region’s public interest.
Meanwhile, the 16th Ibero-American Business Meeting will present participants with a series of initiatives and strategies to strengthen cooperation among Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal, and become a benchmark for Europe and the rest of the international community.
